Writer's Block: Grab and Go

Scenario: For exactly 1 minute, you get access to all the databases of all the intelligence agencies in the world (CIA, FBI, KGB, MI-5, etc). What do you want to find out before time is up and you're caught and jailed forever?

My first thought was to find out about life in outer space and government conspiracies like that...... Marilyn Monroe and so on. I bet there's a whole file of stuff like that :) . In my last ten seconds, I would look up important information that I could use as a bargaining chip for a pardon. Forget the jailed forever part!

List: C/L-A-A TV Series

There are certain gems on tv, with low budgets, mostly unknown actors, and borrowed storylines. They tend to run in the same production circles too (common producers/directors, recycled actors, etc). For some reason I love these shows ! I think I just have a knack for remembering elaborate mythologies, like Marvel comics or whatever.  They don't really have a common thread, but they sort of fall into a genre...... and i'm making a list!

What's the worst job you've ever had?

The worst job I ever had was also the best job I ever had. It's the worst job because I got screwed there. I worked so hard, did such a good job, and enjoyed myself, and those people really fired me over nothing. I've forgiven them though, on to bigger and better!

Hanging out all day

I hung out with an old friend all day today. We go through phases like this, where we hang out all day every day, then we might just keep loose contact for six months. I've known him a very long time, and I consider him a very close friend, and so does everyone else he knows. His charisma level is off the charts, and it's really fun to hang out with him. He's a little crazy, and kind of a bad influence, but the laughs make it worth it. He would love to know that someone blogged about him..... he would eat that up. He loves attention! Haha.

Writer's Block: Take Your Chances

I think people deserve 2nd chances, if they earn them. And it depends on the situation. Sometimes, you only get one shot......

Writer's Block: Caution, Meet Wind

I throw caution to the wind every time I start my car. The serpentine belt half-broke a few weeks ago, and I haven't fixed it yet. My stepdad says

"It's a brand new belt! It'll hold up!"

Of course, I don't know anything about cars, so I believe him. Here's hoping half a belt is enough for awhile!

I just joined livejournal, and scoped out a few interesting communities. Some don't have open membership, I wonder how you get them to accept you....? Haha

I'm excited, this site is amazing, it's a melting pot of different people and ideas. And it draws a certain kind of person, one who appreciates the art of using words and knows the power they have. Looking forward to meeting new people!

Autumn is more nostalgic and dreamy, while spring is warm and bright. I can't choose, they both rock!

Music - Tony Martino

Tony Martino is an alternative/ambient/pop artist from Chicago, and the two songs I've heard immediately remind me of John Mayer's first album. I listened to both Dance Without The Music and I Can't Promise.

"Dance Without the Music" is upbeat and fun, with lyrics that are thoughtful and dreamy. It's a song that would play on a fun first date, where you really like the person, are enjoying yourself, and can't help but jump to silent conclusions about the future. You listen to this song and look back with fond nostalgia, whether a relationship forms, or not. I listened three or four times, just to see how it grows. The verses require just a little careful listening to appreciate their cleverness, but the chorus is catchy. My only advice would be to turn down the vocal effect that causes "false loud", which eventually makes a listeners ears feel tired. I wouldn't turn it all the way off, or it would lose some of the nostalgia-dream vibe. This sort of jam is even better when the vocals sound slightly more acoustic. It's a great song, that is so VH1's Top 20, and I really dig it.

"I Can't Promise" conveys sad inevitability and slight guilt, while also ringing with honesty and hinted optimism in its lyrics. It's easy listening, and would be an excellent album filler, with potential as a third or fourth single. I see it as the song that becomes your favorite after you've already had 5 favorites at different times on the same CD.

I'm mos def picking up the album this summer!
